Once you select and approve your GardenScape Plan, we'll take care of the installation. Additionally, we provide personal planting, coaching, and a maintenance plan to seamlessly incorporate the kitchen garden into your healthy lifestyle.

RAISED BED MATERIALS
CEDAR
Cedar garden beds are the most popular choice for raised beds, offering a naturally beautiful aesthetic for your garden. Cedar's inherent resistance to rot and pests, due to its tannin content, makes it an excellent material for garden substrates. You can expect your cedar raised bed to remain durable and effective for at least 10 years before it begins to degrade.
GALVANIZED STEEL
Galvanized steel garden beds are gaining popularity due to their many advantages. These beds are incredibly durable and strong, with excellent resistance to weathering and rusting. Depending on conditions, galvanized steel garden beds can last for at least 30 years, making them a long-lasting and reliable choice for your garden.
CORTEN STEEL
Corten steel beds are environmentally safe and beneficial to plants. The iron content leaches into the soil, promoting chlorophyll development in plants, which leads to healthier harvests. Corten steel naturally rusts to form a protective patina coating, but unlike regular rust, this patina does not rub off. Typically, Corten steel will develop this protective layer within six months of exposure to the atmosphere. Most weathering steel types require wet and dry weather cycles to oxidize and develop. With this protective rust, Corten steel can last anywhere from a few decades to over 100 years.

OWNER & FOUNDER
My name is Kasumi. I moved to the United States from Japan in 2005, bringing with me a rich and colorful background. I was born in Laos to Chinese and French parents and, after a brief time in Thailand, my family settled in Japan. My multicultural upbringing has given me the ability to speak Laotian, Thai, Japanese, and now English.
Gardening has been a rewarding part of my life since childhood. My family always maintained gardens using natural methods like chickens for amendments, fostering a deep connection to sustainable practices.
My creative journey began with a passion for art, leading me to a career in hair creation and design. I moved to Los Angeles and immersed myself in the hair and makeup industry in Hollywood, working on TV sets, runways, music videos, and magazines.
For family reasons, I moved to Columbia, Missouri, where I purchased my first home and rekindled my love for gardening. I turned my front yard into an edible landscape, inspiring neighbors and passersby who sought my advice and help. This experience ignited my passion for helping others create their dream gardens.
Over the past 10 years, I have embraced gardening in various locations, facing new challenges with each move. Now settled in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, I am excited to share my love for creating beautiful garden spaces with everyone.
My mission is to inspire as many people as I can to grow their own food and experience the joy of harvesting. Gardening is about more than just cultivating plants; it's about creating a fulfilling lifestyle and a beautiful environment that brings joy and sustainability.
